Soft drinks are full of sugar and are therefore not the smartest choice. But sometimes you feel like a sweet soft drink instead of just water, tea or coffee. What you can do is make your own iced tea, so you know exactly how much sugar goes into it. This homemade lemon iced tea is a lot healthier and tastes even more delicious!
INGREDIENTS
1 litre water
3 teabags of redbush tea for a whole jug (or 1 for one cup)
1 lemon
Honey or agave syrup to taste
Ice cubes
METHOD
Boil the water in a kettle and pour into a jug. Leave the teabags to brew in the hot water for about five minutes. Stir in the honey or agave syrup (to taste). Allow the tea to cool down to room temperature, before adding the slices of lemon. Place in the fridge and add some ice cubes before serving.
Tip: For an extra kick of flavour, add mint, ginger or different types of fruit to jazz up your glass.
